A Ford F350 turned left in front of me as I was going through a yellow light. He was trying to make the light before it turned red and I guess he didn’t see me. I’ve got some whiplash so I’m up at 4am updating my blog due to inability to sleep due to the pain. I’m going to the doc tomorrow morning to get something for the pain. Aside from my neck, I’m perfectly fine.
The sad part is that I just sold the Honda Element yesterday so I went from 2 cars to 0 cars in 24 hours.

Dinged? Yes. Banged up? You bet. Totaled? No way. A little Bondo here, a little paint there, a few new parts under the hood and you’re good as new.

Wow - I’m glad you’re ok.
So if he’s turning on a red, and you’re running a yellow, he’s at fault right? Sounds like you need a lawyer to me. Seriously.

No, he had an unprotected yellow light so he just had to wait for the intersection to be clear of traffic before turning left. I had the right of way since I was going straight through the intersection.
I really would only need a lawyer if I had some nasty medical bills. As is, the car will be repaired by insurance (either his or mine, depending if they accept fault for the accident) and my minimal medical bills covered. At worst I will be out $1000 for my deductible.

Ow. Hope the doctor checked your spine; my ongoing neck problems are due partly to when Bre W.’s mother did something similar and broadsided the car I was driving in 1993, thoroughly totalling it. (I was the one turning left, but she accelerated through the red; also, a witness confirmed that she’d been in another lane, so I couldn’t have seen her as I was trying to clear the intersection. She entered on red and I was already in it.)
Hope you and the little car turn out okay for the long run. As your father says, that’s not totaled….

Man - that’s insane. Glad that you weren’t hurt - and also glad that you weren’t on your motorcycle!
