Big things have been afoot recently in life. I quit IBM and had two offers: onnetworks.com and fiveruns.com. I’ve decided to go to work at FiveRuns; their heavy focus on Ruby and Rails is what I’m interested in learning. Just as I’ve become a Java expert over the last decade, I want to reboot my technical skills and become an expert in Ruby and Rails. I’m giving up a lot of money to do this but ultimately I hope it leads me down a new and exciting career path.
In other news, I’m buying a car this week, a 2005 Boxster with 27k miles, to replace the one totaled several weeks ago.
