I bought an EP from Amazon’s MP3 download service last night. American Analog Set’s Late One Sunday… The funny thing is that the EP is only two really long tracks and Amazon charges $1 per track. So I can buy the EP on CD for $13 or the actual DRM-free, high quality MP3s for $2. Tough choice.
In a related note, word on the street is that Radiohead has already collected $10 million in “donations” for their new downloadable album. Does anyone else see the death of the CD (and quite possibly the record label) coming in the next decade?
