Tax on Texas strip clubs is unconstitutional, judge says

April 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

One of my pet peeves with government is the never-ending attempt to legislate morality. Whether it’s burkas in Tehran, outlawing the sale of alcohol on Sunday mornings in Texas, it’s always the same. More often than not it is given some altruistic goal of helping children, or, in this case, poor and abused women. This makes it hard to be against the law without being accused of being anti-child or anti-woman (and a seedy strip club aficionado too I’m sure!).

Sheesh, I’m becoming more libertarian every day.
