Did my first track day at the new track 25 miles south of Austin called Harris Hill Road. The track is awesome, not really tight but no real fast straights either - a nice, flowing, technical layout. Tammy met me there later in the morning and spent the day shooting pictures and video. No on-board video unfortunately. It was a little hot and we got a LOT of track time so I’m exhausted now. But I got my knee down in Dam Turn and made it home unscratched so it was a good day.
I’m really looking forward to many more track days there in the future.

Uh…. so does that mean that you’re not going to be selling the Daytona after all? Or do you plan to become the terror of Harris Hill Road on the (snicker)Suzuki?

No, I just couldn’t buy the Suzuki until today so I had to do the track day on the Daytona.

Ok, but you said that you look forward to “many more track days there in the future”. Thus the question… if you are going to sell the Daytona, then on what bike will you be doing the track days?

The same bike which I just blogged about Sunday… The Suzuki.

Oh. I was thinking that the Suzuki was pretty much just a dirt bike, not really quite the type you’d use for a track day. Sorta seems like taking a Volkswagen to Indy.

Well, remember it’s a motard, not a dirt bike. It looks like a dirt bike but it’s designed for roads. This guy was blazing fast at the track day on his motard:
