This is the sad state of politics under a 24/7 media spotlight - candidates who act human can’t be elected. I said last year that McCain was the only Republican I could see myself voting for in 2008 because of his actions: he reached across the aisle to solve problems like campaign finance reform, had actual moderate, reasonable views on many subjects like immigration and wasn’t afraid to appear on blue shows like The Daily Show (and held his own quite well, IMO).
Today’s McCain is strained, humorless, a political machine barely recognizable from the man two years ago. That’s too bad. John, we hardly knew ye.

No doubt, he was in the US Senate effectively for two years before starting the Presidential campaign in 2007. I would hope that McCain has accomplished more!
But just because a talking head can’t name anything doesn’t mean it’s true.
