If you’re getting a permit to hold a protest, you’re doing it wrong. I’ve always liked the catchphrase “Soap Box, Voting Box, Jury Box, Ammo Box. Use in that order” to describe means of American protest. It seems to me like all the Chinese have available to them is the latter.
